Cardiff Met launches new partnership in India

14 Apr 2012
by Planet EDU

13/04/2012 14:30

Cardiff Metropolitan University’s partnership with highly-respected Indian educational services company, Planet EDU, was officially launched this week in Delhi, in the presence of the First Minister of Wales, The Right Honourable Carwyn Jones AM, during his three day trade mission to India.

Planet EDU specialises in offering international qualifications, English language testing, teacher training and secure examination management, all using technology enhanced learning solutions.

Vice Chancellor of Cardiff Met, Professor Antony Chapman,
Director of the British Council in India, Rob Lynes, First
Minister of Wales, The Right Honourable Carwyn Jones
AM and CEO of Planet EDU, Sanjay Malaviya.
The partnership between Cardiff Met and Planet EDU will offer undergraduate and postgraduate business and management programmes across India through the Flexible and Distributed Learning (FDL) mode – an advanced system of education that brings together learners and teachers to facilitate learning - using a blend of traditional methods and new technologies to provide an enhanced learning experience.

Programme materials will be developed collaboratively by staff at Planet EDU and academic staff from the university, with support available to students from staff in India and in Cardiff.

The benefits of studying under the FDL model include its flexibility, cost-effectiveness and the accessibility of resources. As degrees are the same as those offered via on-campus study, learners will have the advantage of being able to transfer to on-campus study, should they wish to complete their studies at Cardiff Met.

All programmes will be subject to the university’s quality assurance processes with degrees awarded by Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Planet EDU joins the list of established Cardiff Metropolitan University transnational partnerships with organisations including the Arab Academy for Science and Technology, Egypt, the LSC Group of Colleges, ICBT in Sri Lanka and the East Asia Institute of Management in Singapore.
